We’ve been watching Buick closely over the last couple of model years, and we’re generally quite impressed with the current product portfolio from GM’s premium brand. Now through April 30, 2013, you can take big cash back off of a brand-new 2013 Buick Regal or 2013 Buick LaCrosse luxury sedan.

Final production specifications and details for Buick’s new 2012 Regal GS have just broken cover. The newer, hotter Regal makes 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque from its Ecotec 2.0-liter direct injected and turbocharged inline four-cylinder.
This is 15 more horsepower than Buick had originally stated. Buick says this is the highest specific output, at 135 horsepower per liter, of any production engine GM has ever offered. 0-to-60 mph should come in 6.7 seconds.
Even better news for driver-types: the sporty Regal GS will be offered at launch with a very un-Buick-like six-speed conventional manual transmission. A six-speed automatic will be available soon down the road. The GS benefits from a lowered ride height and four-wheel independent suspension with Buick’s new High Performance Strut (HiPerStrut) system to reduce torque steer and help with aggressive cornering. Sadly, the car will be limited to front-wheel drive instead of the all-wheel drive found on the Regal GS Concept from last year’s Detroit Auto Show.
