Top 10 Cars with the Best Resale Value Right Now

August 4th, 2011

The 2011 Acura TL carries one of the best resale values.

Everyone’s heard or experienced the ugly fact of life known as depreciation. You buy that shiny, retina-searing Montego Blue Metallic 2011 BMW 328i Coupe and as soon as its beefy 255/35 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A run flats roll you off the lot, the value of your $39k sled quickly drops in value by about $3000.  It’s a sad fact of life, but heavy lies the crown.

That being said, you can hedge your losses on purchasing a car that holds its value better than its peers, which is beneficial to car buyers who are on the fence between leasing and buying. Buying a car that holds its value better will allow owners to get the most money back should they choose to sell after 2-3 years.

It should be noted that most, if not all of the vehicles below rarely see big cash-back rebates on their current model years.  In exercising this option, manufacturers are helping existing owners to retain the values of their vehicles since new car buyers have little negotiating room for big price reductions.

Here’s our Top 10 list of new cars that hold their value the best.

1. 2011 Toyota Prius
2. 2011 Honda CR-V
3. 2011 Lexus RX 350
4. 2011 Nissan Maxima
5. 2011 Acura TL
6. 2011 Honda Fit
7. 2011 MINI Cooper
8. 2011 Subaru Legacy
9. 2011 Honda Odyssey
10. 2011 Hyundai Elantra

Still Nothing Like It. 0.0% APR on 2010 Jeep Wrangler.

June 4th, 2010

The word “Jeep” is one of the most well recognized terms in the automotive world. There is nothing that can be identified more with the term than the Jeep Wrangler. The Basic formula has remained unchanged for over 2 decades: a highly capable off-road vehicle with an open-air cabin (via a soft or removable hard top). The 2010 Jeep Wrangler follows this recipe to a T, and manages to throw in some modern improvements without losing the basic simplicity of the design.

Trim Packages Galore

That being said, the Wrangler has also become available in more guises than ever before. There are now six different models available to customers in a variety of different configurations to suit anyone’s needs. There are three trim levels: Sport (basic), Sahara (Premium), and Rubicon (Heavy duty). If that wasn’t enough, Jeep recently introduced the Unlimited package which transforms what was traditionally a relatively small 2 door vehicle into a full size 4 door machine capable of carrying an entire family. The unlimited chassis is available on all the trim levels for an additional cost.

Not Your Pops’ Wrangler

What’s new for the Wrangler in 2010 is more comfort than ever before. The Wrangler has definitely matured in recent years, and Jeep is continuing the trend by increasing interior room, and adding features like optional side-impact airbags and a seven speaker stereo system equipped with Sirius satellite radio for catching the latest tunes while out patrolling the boondocks.

At the same time, the company has done its best to make sure that the Jeep continues to be affordable with a minimum base price just over $20K. The 2010 Wrangler is currently available, and for a limited time, carries attractive financing of 0.0% APR over 36 months, on top of $500 Mopar Allowance, just in time for summer.
