The spiritual precursor to the modern Enzo and LaFerrari, the legendary Ferrari F40 is all about uncompromising speed and supercar enjoyment. Far from a modern GT car, it’s loud, scary at the limit and thoroughly uncompromising in its singular mission as a race car for the road. A twin-turbo 2.9-liter V8 mounted directly behind the driver produces a loud wail and 471 horsepower, and taller drivers will sit with their knees virtually against their chest. So when EVO Magazine‘s Henry Catchpole had the opportunity to drive one more than 1,1000 km all the way from Switzerland to the U.K., including a sporting journey through the Swiss Alps, he jumped at the chance, of course.

Dodge is making waves with its new-for-2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat, the most poweful muscle car ever created and currently the most powerful American-made car that money can buy. With 707 horsepower from a high-output supercharged 6.2-liter V8, the most powerful series-production V8 ever, the Hellcat is more powerful than a Lamborghini Aventador and Dodge’s own Viper. It’s got 20×9.5-inch rear tires, and runs the 1/4-mile on its production tires in 11.2 seconds (10.8 seconds on street-legal drag radials) Top speed is an ungoverned 199 mph.
