BMW Alpina B5 Sedan Stuns in Geneva
March 13th, 2012 by Armaan Almeida
BMW and its official partners at performance haus Alpina have taken the wraps off the new BMW Alpina B5 Biturbo Sedan, which now joins the B5 Biturbo wagon as a more civilized take on supercar-level 5-Series performance than BMW’s own M5.
The B5 Biturbo gets power from a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 making a crazy 540 horsepower and 538 lb-ft. of torque, enough for a 0-60 mph dash of less than 4.5 seconds. A ZF 8-speed automatic transmission puts power to the road, with a smooth but well-honed ride thanks to Alpina’s sport-tuned variable damping suspension.
Would you take the BMW M5 or the Alpina B5 Biturbo? One of each, please, thank you.
