What Kind of Car Does Mitt Romney Drive?
February 28th, 2012 by Armaan AlmeidaGrowing up in Michigan the son of American Motors Corporation CEO George Romney, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is a car guy through-and-through. Mitt is a fan of Detroit iron old or new, and whether it’s classic AMC vehicles or modern luxury crossovers, you can be sure it’s American. Here’s the Romney family’s current rides.
2005 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Romney’s favorite car to talk about has to be his 2005 Mustang GT Convertible, which was a gift from his wife. Not very efficient, but it’s about as American as baseball. Find your own Ford Mustang here.
2002 Chevrolet Silverado
Showing up at campaign stops in a big ol’ truck becomes even more respectable if that truck is scratched, scuffed and generally well-used. Romney has owned this full-size 4×4 Chevy for a decade. Find your own Chevrolet Silverado here.
2007 and 2010 Cadillac SRX
Used mostly by his wife Ann, the family owns a pair of SRXs, which are kept at two of the Romneys’ three properties. Find your own Cadillac SRX here.
1962 Nash Rambler American
This white-on-black convertible is a nice rare classic, made even sweeter by the Romney family’s storied history in the auto industry. The beautiful ragtop was a gift from Mitt’s son. For more on the Rambler, check this page out.

Nice pick of all American makes and a lot less ostentatious than what some of those who complain about his wealth drive.

Who is the idiot Krispy Kreme? You can’t even spell his name right. While I am not a ROMNEY fan, posts like yours shows some of the ignorance that we have among the American voters.

Krispy Kreme… way to show your own intelligence. Mitt Romney might not be your candidate of choice and that’s fine, it’s your choice. But this article shows that he is as down to earth as any red blooded American man when it comes to his choice of automobiles. The article also shows that he supports America with his financial choices and has been doing so for a very long time… at least a decade with the suburban and 7 years with the mustang. This gives us a glimpse at his private life that can help all of us relate to him and see how he can relate to all of us. You never know, the man in the 2005 red mustang convertible driving next to you could be the next President of the United States of America! So, it might not be a good idea to tailgate him or cut him off.
