Must See TV: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2012 BMW M5
February 17th, 2012 by Armaan AlmeidaWhile the newly reimagined 2012 BMW M5 features supercar performance in an everyday sedan package, it (and 99.9% of other vehicles) just can’t hold a candle to the 2012 Nissan GT-R. Today we bring you an interesting comparison video. Rather than pit the two expensive 500+ horsepower behemoths directly against each other (we already know who would win), ace wheelman Chris Harris takes each for a spin on public roads and on the track to get at their individual character.
The GT-R, with its sophisticated launch control and ATESSA-S AWD system, does everything it can to keep the car pointed straight, while the rear-wheel drive M5 is a little more content to kick out its tail with easily controllable oversteer. Harris shows us how to drive each car effectively, and gives a nice look at two very different interior setups.
2012 BMW M5 (est. $90,000) or 2012 Nissan GT-R ($89,950)? Watch the video and give us your pick in the comments!

This comparison is strictly enthusiast based, and in no way a real world match up.
Buyers considering a GT-R are cross shopping Z06′s and those looking at the M5 are checking out E63 AMG’s.
While red light fantasies will never cease between these two I know the CHP would rather tag a GT-R than a M5 any day. (Screams Fast&Furious)
