2013 Mazda CX-5 Pricing Announced: Cheapest Crossover Yet
February 7th, 2012 by Armaan Almeida
Mazda has just released official pricing info on the 2013 CX-5 sport-minded compact crossover SUV, which will reach Mazda dealerships later this month. The base front-wheel drive CX-5 Sport with a 6-speed manual will set you back a very reasonable $20,695 plus destination charges of $795. If you’re keeping score, that undercuts pre-destination base pricing on top compact crossover competitors the Ford Escape ($21,440), Toyota RAV4 ($22,475) and Honda CR-V ($21,895).
Equipping the Sport with a 6-speed automatic will run an extra $1,400 while switching to all-wheel drive (requires the automatic) will be $1,250 more. Topping the range is the CX-5 Grand Touring, which will ring in at $29,620 with auto transmission, all-wheel drive and the Technology Package.

Thanks to its light weight and advanced Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder, the manual-equipped CX-5′s 35 highway mpg bests all SUVs currently on the road. If you’re in the market for a vehicle that drives like a sport coupe but with family-friendly practicality, the excellent CX-5 deserves a long look.
