Updated 2011 Chevy Camaro Featured in Transformers 3

June 7th, 2011

The Camaro received a bevy of updates for the third installment of Transformers.

The Transformers saga continues when the newest film, Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon, hits theaters Friday July 1, 2011.

Since the widely successful movie series’ beginnings, the role of Bumblebee has been played by none other than the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, now updated in styling to match the 2011 model. Chevy’s fun new ad spot, titled “Getaway,” shows Bumblebee drifting his way through a crumbling city chock full of the expected explosions.

A close inspection even reveals a cameo by a roadster version of the 50th Anniversary Corvette Stingray concept, which hints at what the next-gen ‘Vette might look like. While the production Camaro may not come with retractable hood-mounted missile launchers, it did manage to outsell Ford’s Mustang last year.
