Not many cars on the road today have a more storied history than that of Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evolution. Now in its tenth generation, the Evo X (what the car is widely referred to as in enthusiast circles) brings a lot more refinement to the table for 2009.

Initially, the reviews were polarized; the purists argued that the new Evolution dulled the sharp handling prowess found in the last generation Evolution IX. The esteemed members of the media rationalized that simply put, it’s evolution, that the car itself has gone through both substantial and incremental changes for the better, as evidenced by the Evolution X’s consistently quicker lap times.

Our take? With a starting price of under $30k (EST), it’s tough to beat the value Mitsubishi has managed to pack into the new Evolution.
